# Solar

> What a solar inverter reports, and recipes for using its production data.

Read how much a solar inverter is producing now and how much it has produced in total.

## What it reports

| `status` | `producing`, `idle`, `night_mode`, `error`, or `offline`. |
| `producing` | The inverter is producing power now. |
| `currentPower` | AC output now, in kW. |
| `energyTotal` | Lifetime production, in kWh. |

## What it accepts

Nothing. Solar inverters are read-only: there is no command or settings endpoint for them. See [Capabilities](/guides/capabilities).
